Beth Nelsen is an Out & Proud Feminist and local documentary filmmaker who focuses on telling the stories of historically marginalized populations. A multi-racial adoptee, identity is a key lens. Her work has traveled the globe, participating in LGBTQ, Indigenous, and numerous other film festivals. A Napa Valley College graduate, Beth went on to earn her BA in Philosophy from UCLA and her MA in Film & Television from the University of Melbourne, Australia. After years of international travel, Beth returned to her family in Napa in 2012 and now serves on the County Mental Health Board and is a local activist. Since reclaiming Napa as home, Beth has built a life with her partner, Dr. Christina Nelsen, and together they are raising their young child.
